1) Disable any virus detection software you may be using, unless it's Disinfectant. The patch won't work properly otherwise.
2) Make a back-up copy of the original color scheme and put it someplace safe. Once you patch it, it's patched, and you'll have to replace it with the original to get the old version back (if you ever want to, that is).
3) Double-click the "Color Scheme Patch" to launch the patcher.
4) A dialog box will appear. Read the information in the window, and click the "Patch" button to begin.
5) You will prompted to locate the scheme you wish to update--find it, select it, and click the "Patch" button (or just double-click its name).
6) Once the patch has been applied, Restart your computer and enjoy the new icons!

What does the patch do?
My Color Scheme Patch will add my folder icons to individual Kaleidoscope Color Scheme files.
How does it work?
Without getting too technical, my patch basically compares the existing color scheme with the information stored within the patch. Since your "un-heavy" scheme files have no folder icon resources, my patch adds them.
Why a Color Scheme patch?
First and foremost, because I hate "heavy" color schemes. Just recently I began to include light and heavy versions of my schemes in each archive--but that was just a waste of server space to me. Not to mention the pain it was to make sure each file was correct, triple-check all the resources, etc., etc.
Now, all you have to do is run my patch, and you have a heavy color scheme! Simple, easy, quick, and painless.
I thought that was the purpose of the Appearance Extension Patch and the Kaleidoscope Patch.
What gives?
The Appearance Extension Patch replaced all the Finder icons. My Kaleidoscope Patch replaces the standard icons included within Kaleidoscope, changing those icons that would sometimes override the Appearance Extension's. My Color Scheme Patch simply adds the basic folder icons to an individual color scheme, making it a "heavy" scheme--a scheme that contains its own folder icons replacements.
Will this patch work with other scheme creator's color scheme files?
This is a difficult question to answer, simply because I don't know for sure. Each scheme creator does things differently, and there's no way I can acquire all 1,500 schemes out there to test against my patch. My patch is tailored for comparison with the resources included (and not included) within my, personal color scheme files. If someone else just so happens to create his or her schemes the same way I do, my patch will work.
So, there may be some schemes that are compatible, and others may not be. Just duplicate the file you want to try and update, run the patch, and see what happens--it will either work, or it won't.
Is this patch dangerous? Is it going to mess-up my Mac?
My patch is totally safe, if you follow the directions and use common sense: Always work with a copy! If you edit the one and only original of anything, you've lost its original form. If you edit a copy instead, all you have to do is replace the edited version with the original to get back to where you started.
